1959
The Foundation
Auto-Sueco Coimbra is founded, in Coimbra - Portugal. At first as a Volvo Vehicle and Truck Dealer.1970
The Partnership With Volvo
Volvo invites ASC to import and distribute Volvo Construction Equipment in Portugal.1981
Opening of New Branches
ASC opens facilities in Albergaria-a-Velha, Viseu and Castelo Branco.1999
1st Internationalization – Spain
Acquisition of Volmaquinaria Construction España SA (VMCE).2001
Rental of Machinery and Equipment
Start of activity for the rental of machinery and equipment.2003
Invesment in Multibrand Automotive Business
Enters the Multibrand Automotive Business, bringing Volvo together with Land Rover, Jaguar and Mazda.2004
2nd Internationalization - USA
Acquisition of Volvo CE operations in five regions in the USA (North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee). Incorporation of new company: ASC Construction Equipment USA, INC.2007
First expansion
Three years later ASC opens a new branch the benchmark for Volvo CE facilities in US. Volvo CE headquarters, based in Asheville, North Carolina.2008
New Atlanta Branch
ASC opens its largest branch in Atlanta, Georgia. This facility shows the commitment to this critical market for the success of the US operations.2009
50th Anniversary of the Group

Acquisition of Volvo Construction Equipment operations in Turkey.2012
4th Internationalization – Mexico
Restructuring. Establishment of the Group Holding Company. Transformation into an S.A. Change of the Group’s name to Ascendum. Start-up of Volvo construction equipment operations in Mexico.2013
5th Internationalization – Central Europe and USA
Acquisition of Volvo CE operations in Austria, Hungary, Czechia, Slovakia, Romania, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Moldova.2014
Group's 55th Anniversary
April 1st symbolizes a journey of strength and growth. Becomes a multinational corporation, present on 4 continents, in 14 countries, with headquarters in Portugal, 1,350 employees and a turnover of around 680 million Euros.2015

Ascendum began its agro business in Portugal in March 2016, taking responsibility for the import and distribution of the Valtra and Kioti brands through a network of dealers.2016

ASC Construction Equipment USA Inc. adopts the global rebrand, including a name change and new visual identity to create what is now Ascendum Machinery, Inc.2019

New Charlotte Branch Opens
In 2019 a new branch was constructed located nearby the Headquarters in Charlotte, NC. This investment reflects the importance of this growing market and becomes the benchmark for facilities in the US.2021
